Variety transported to American territory by the Cherokee tribe during their deportation west of the Mississippi (1838-1839). Several made the trip by boat but, 18,000 did it on foot, among them, about 4,000 died of the rigors of winter, during their trip. This is where the name Trail of Tears comes from. Excellent fresh or as a legume. The beans are clearly visible on the plant, they are a pretty purple, purplish color. The grains are black. Also named Cherokee Black. 80-90 days.

Sow 15-20 cm apart, outdoors when all risk of frost has passed. Climb the beans on a structure, trellis or fence.
